Club Rules

 

1.       It is the responsibility of each member, participant and guest to follow all of Big Timber Rifle and Pistol Club safety rules and to ensure that everyone follows all safety rules.

2.       Anyone observing a violation of any safety rule, must immediately bring it to the attention of the Range Officer (if present), and the person committing the unsafe act so further violations will be avoided.

3.       Firearms shall be discharged only in safe direction such that the projectile’s impact occurs in a pre-designated location specifically designed to safely dissipate all of the projectile’s energy.

4.       Only firearms in safe working order and properly maintained shall be discharged.

5.       When not at a shooting station, all firearms shall be carried unloaded with the cylinder/breech open and in a safe manner.

6.       No firearms shall be loaded until the shooter is at the shooting station. Loading is considered as putting ammunition into any part of the firearm. Magazines may be loaded before approaching the firing line magazines may not be placed into the firearm until the shooter is at the shooting station.

7.       Each shooter must ensure that all rounds are fired into the designated impact zones.

8.       A firearm shall not be handled so as the muzzle is pointed in the direction of any person.

9.       No ammunition larger than .50 cal centerfire or .75 cal muzzle loader is permitted.

10.   No alcohol will be consumed on the Big Timber Rifle and Pistol Club property.

11.   Approved eye and hearing protection is required.

12.   No tracer rounds of any kind on the range.
